Library CardsGeneralPatrons must have a valid library card in order to borrow items from the library or to access some on-line resources. For residents of Shelburne, Amaranth, Melancthon, Mono, and Mulmur - our supporting municipalities - there is no charge to obtain a card. For others, there is a non-resident annual fee of $65. There is no fee for in-library usage. To obtain a card come to the Shelburne Public Library in person. You must have valid documentation such as a Driver's License, utility bill etc., stating your name and current address to get a card. Children under the age of 16 may have their own card, but a parent or guardian must sign to accept responsibility on the child's behalf. Library cards are non-transferable and the use of the card is the responsibility of the person to whom the card is issued. The cards are renewed annually and providing that you have borrowed materials within the past year, you will retain the library card with the same number.
