Donations - Books and Resources

The Library is pleased to receive your gently used book donations. Books that are in good condition and fall into one of the categories below will be accepted.

The Library Will Accept:

• Hardcover, paperbacks or magazines that have been published in the last 3 years
• Local history materials
• Works by local authors

The Library does not accept:

• Textbooks
• Encyclopedias
• National Geographic, MacLean's or Time magazines
• VHS, DVDs, CDs, recorded books, language kits
• CD-ROMs
• Unlicensed or advanced copies
• Puzzles, games or toys
• Dusty, damp, or moldy materials or materials in poor condition

If you have old or moldy materials or materials in poor condition, they can be recycled in your blue bin if you take the hardcover off and put it in the trash.

Once donated, the items become the property of Shelburne Public Library. They may be included in our collection or sold at our book sale to raise funds for library materials or equipment.
